Callum Shinkwin faces a wait to get his first major championship round under way after being named in the 52nd and final group at the Open Championship.
The Moor Park golfer is due to tee off at Royal Troon at 4.16pm on Thursday and will be partnered by fellow Englishman Ryan Evans and South Africa’s Zander Lombard.
The 23-year-old Bushey professional goes into the tournament in fine form after completing back-to-back top-ten finishes on the European Tour, securing his place at the Open after finishing in a tie for ninth at the Open de France and following that up with a share of eighth spot in the Scottish Open yesterday to move up to 65th in the Race to Dubai rankings.
Corby-born Evans has a Race to Dubai standing of 170 and his highest finish this year was a tie for 12th at the Mauritius Open in May.
Lombard is placed 85th in the Race to Dubai and has two top-ten finishes this year, including finishing runner-up at the Johannesburg Open in January.
The trio will get their second round under way at 11.15am on Friday.
