Premier Division

Premier Division new boys Chorleywood Club had a dream start to life in the top flight with a 2-1 win over St Joseph’s, the ten-time champions who are looking for their first title since the 2009-10 season.

But they endured a tough start as last season’s Division One runners-up thoroughly deserved the three points, and scored twice in the first half through Nicholas Holden and Callum McCarroll.

St Joseph’s pulled a goal back after the break, credited to Josh Powel, although Chorleywood reported it is an own goal for new signing Sam Jolliffe.

Rifle Volunteer and last season’s runners-up Reed Rangers shared the points. After a goalless first half, Andy Lomas put the hosts ahead early into the second period but a change in formation saw Reed to equalise through Chris Blunden.

Met Police Bushey beat Rickmansworth Town 2-0 with goals from Rob Gradwell and Dan Bhamra.

Division One

The last Premier Division champions of the old Olympian League, Old Danes Athletic, put down an earlier marker with a 6-0 home win over Croxley Community Centre.

Despite having lost some players to The Tree, they enjoyed an easy morning, as Josh Burks struck a brace, with other goals from Lewis Chappell, Ross Bennett, Josh Oliver and new signing Will Keddy.

Last season’s Division Two champions West Herts enjoyed a winning start at the higher level with a 3-1 away win over AFC Oddfellows.

They were dominant from the start and Ali Khan opened the scoring from the edge of the penalty area. Jeremy Audic then doubled their lead from close range before the break. Harry Hughes made it 3-0 with 20 minutes left, although the home side did pull a goal back late on.

North Watford, who finished bottom of the division last time around, enjoyed a bright start to the new campaign with a 2-1 away win over RD FC.

Daniel Moss put them ahead in the first half, and although RD equalised at the start of the second with a header from Joe Ellis, North Watford took the points thanks to a late goal from Aamer Khan.

The points were shared between Croxley and West Watford as they drew 2-2. Jadilon Reis and Carl Pettitt scored either side of a brace from Bilal Akram.

Division Two

Langleybury Cricket Club were 3-1 winners at Bedmond. Greg and Gary Cook both scored early in the first half, before Bedmond pulled a goal back from George Dalling.

Bedmond had more of the play in the second half but were caught on the counter-attack pushing for an equaliser and Greg Cook scored his second of the game.

Fox And Hounds, who have been promoted two league after winning Division Four last season, enjoyed a 2-1 win over Cassiobury Rangers.

They had to come from behind after Joe Mortimer gave the visitors an early lead but Josh Noyes equalised from a penalty before scoring the winner nine minutes from time with a long-range effort following a corner.

Compasses North beat Oxhey Rangers 3-1 thanks to goals from Mick Twelves, Umberto Urgo and Danny Bennan.

Bricketwood Social and Rickmansworth Athletic drew 2-2, with goals from Martin Sanseverino and an own goal for the home side, and the visitors replying through goals from Quarrington and Brennan.

Division Three

Tudor Athletic had a good start to the season with a 7-1 win over Sun Postal Sports.

Jack Robertson scored five times, with the two other goals coming from Wicks and Herbert. Michael Sillick got Sun’s sole strike.

Ripstone also got among the goals with a 5-0 home win over Hertsmere. Robert Winsley scored a brace, with Matthew Elgey, Joe Hardie, and Leo Crocker notching the others.

Darren O’Brien was the star man for Woodlands United as he scored all four goals in their 4-2 away win at Revolution, who replied through Paul Shelock and Kyle Maundrell.

Meriden defeated Green Dragon Reserves by the odd goal in five. Josh Shaw put Meriden ahead, although the home side equalised through a Scot Bain free-kick, and the visitors regained the lead through a Ben Dunton penalty.

Dragon levelled for a second time through Scott Austin but Meriden won the game thanks to a goal from Aaron Crawford.

Division Four

There were goals galore in Division Four with the five games producing a mammoth thirty two goals, an average of more than six goals a game.

Woodside beat The Compasses 9-2, with Drew Snailham on target five times, Joe Fox hitting a hat-trick and John Croft the other. Peter Oakley-Smith scored a double for the home side.

Hertfordshire Lions beat Railway Arms 5-2 with new signing Greg Springall scoring four times on his debut, the other goal coming from Louis McNamara. Lee Shippey and Jordan Aston-Woods were n target for the Arms.

Roundbush came back from 3-1 down to beat Bushey Rangers 4-3. Dan Knott, Liam Wigg, John Catterson, Matt McManus scored for Bush with Lewis Jakes scoring twice for Rangers and Harrison Bath another.

Inter beat Woodlands Laurels 3-1. Alex Hayward scored twice, and Chris Stead added the third. Owen Cahill replied for the home side.

Ardent edged out AFC Green Machine 2-1. Charlie Fowler scored for the home side with Charlie Savage scoring twice for Ardent.

Division Five

The Tree look to have a very strong side as they swept aside William Morris 8-1. Andy Pryor struck a hat-trick, with Glen O’Malley scoring a double, supported by goals from Adam Cadmore and Craig Horwood.

P&P Social beat Garston Rangers 5-1, with Billy Lobjoit scoring four times and another coming from Reece Davies. Karl Woodcock scored for Rangers.

AFC Batchworth beat Chess United 4-1 with Korby Bryan scoring a double and Jordan Banbury and Alan Palmer-Halligan the other. Joe Higgins scoring for Chess.

AC Little Silhouette of Milan beat Batchworth thanks to a single Ben Davies goal.
