Garston Ladies 96 endured a slow start against Hitchin but a barrage of goals turned the game on its head to leave them 6-2 winners.
They fell behind after some poor marking from a free-kick gave a Hitchin player the chance to sneak in and open the scoring, but upped their game and equalised through Jade Roberts soon after.
They then took the lead when Hannah Roberts headed in Lauren Berryman’s corner with a fine effort which looped in over the goalkeeper.
They were pegged back again soon enough, but responded perfectly through Leah Crocket’s goal just before half-time.
After the break, Roberts grabbed another to extend the lead and they added to it thanks to another perfect delivery from Berryman, with her corner this time headed home by Dion Lewis.
Their scoring was complete when Hannah Burt fired into the top corner in the final minutes.
The Under-18s fell to a disappointing 5-2 defeat at Whetstone, despite putting in a strong performance, while the Under-16s were 2-0 winners over St Albans.
