Moor Park Golf Club professionals Callum Shinkwin and Matt Wallace are in contention for high finishes at their respective events this weekend.

Bushey-based Shinkwin lost ground at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship today after following his opening round of a five-under-par 67 at St Andrews with a two-over 74 at Carnoustie in difficult scoring conditions to leave him on a tournament total of three-under-par.

Although the 23-year-old is in a tie for 31st place overnight, Shinkwin is within three shots of a share of sixth ahead of playing the third course in the event, Kingsbarns, tomorrow.

England’s Ross Fisher leads the Links Championship at the halfway stage on 11-under-par.

Shinkwin's club-mate Wallace had to settle for a level par 72 second round following his four-under-par 68 at the Terre dei Consoli Open in Italy, but he is in the mix within four shots of the lead of the Challenge Tour event in a share of eighth place at the midway point.
