Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup Round Two

It was an excellent Sunday morning’s work with six of the league’s teams progressing through to the third round of the intermediate County Cup.

The most impressive result saw North Watford beat Sandon 8-3, having taken control of the game in the first half to lead 3-1 at half-time.

The visitors got back into the contest after the break to make it 3-2 before their opponents cut loose to add five more. Although Sandon also found the net one more time, the home side missed several other good chances to take their score into double figures.

A brace for Aamer Khan and two hat-tricks from Shoaib Ali and Liam Fowler ensured North Watford now face another home tie, this time against Bradmore Rovers on November 13.

Fox & Hounds enjoyed a large 6-0 away win over Brookmans Park.

Braces from three players - Michael Edwards, Bradley Thompson and Alex Witham – set up an away tie at The Snug Bar in the next round.

The all WSL-game saw a minor upset as second division Cassiobury Rangers beat first division Croxley 2-1.

Joe Mortimer scored both of the Rangers goals with Luke Dolan replying.

Compasses North needed a penalty shoot-out to win a cup game for a second time this season.

Having progressed in the league Challenge Cup two weeks previously via spot-kicks, they did the same this time around to win through 4-3 against BWSC following a 3-3 draw after extra-time. Maz Urgo, Sham Patel and Vilson Culaj scored the goals in open play.

Langleybury Cricket Club won 3-0 at Nicholas Breakspear Old Boys Reserves thanks to Harry Lock, George Minihan and Matt Honey.

The only big losers were Oxhey Lions, who suffered a 9-1 away defeat against Whitebridge; Steve King scoring the consolation goal.

Herts Sunday Junior Cup Round Two

Bell Rangers enjoyed a narrow 3-2 win against Shamrock Rovers Reserves to advance into the third round.

Challenge Cup Round One

There was no upset as first division Old Danes Athletic defeated third division Hertsmere 5-2.

Michael Knight and Gavin O'Sullivan scored for the lower ranked side as Chris White netted twice for Old Danes, supported by efforts from Jordan Woodcock, Craig Bennett and Lewis Chappell.

Junior Cup Round One

P&P Social and Chess United faced each other for a second straight week and it ended much the same as seven days before with P&P bettering their goals tally by just one, winning 9-1 this time around.

Billy Lobjoit scored four, Louie Lobjoit three and Aidan Thacker two, with Joe Sansom responding for Chess.

There was a minor upset as Division Five side The Tree beat fourth division strugglers Railway Arms 4-0.

Adam Cadmore netted a brace, with the others coming from Glen O’Malley and an own goal.

Premier Division

Leaders and defending champions Oakview won once again, this time beating Met Police Bushey 6-2.

Hassan Zeizale and Dave Wilmott scored for the home side but they were out-gunned by a hat-trick from Luke Lloyd and Tom Kennedy, Tom Inch and Daryl Brown singles.

Rickmansworth Town are now second in the table after they saw off Chorleywood Club 3-1.

H. Brock, J. Squires-Adams and H. Devall were the Town scorers with Owen Warburton netting for the home team.

Rifle Volunteer made it two league wins on the bounce with a 5-3 victory against Green Dragon.

Andy Lomas led the way with a brace and efforts from Myles Hall, Harry West and own goal saw them better the efforts of Dragon’s Luke O'Malley, James Ratway and Danny Parkinson.

St Josephs defeated Old Fullerians 3-1 through Reece Cameron with two goals and Lawrence Olorunfemi with one. Steve Pich replied for Fullers.

Division One

Croxley Community Centre suffered a 7-0 home defeat to RD FC, who moved up to third place in the table.

Elliot Myrants-Wilson, Sean Donnelly and Jake Levy all struck twice with the other goal scored by Joe Ellis.

Division Two

Oxhey Rangers have a first league point of the season on the board after drawing 2-2 against Bricketwood Social.

Dan Pippin scored both Rangers goals, with Chris Cummins and Cleveland Brandy responding for Social.

Rickmansworth Athletic won a league game for the first time this campaign after beating Rifle Volunteer Reserves 4-2.

Ionut Needelea netted a double and Shane Kitts and Ross McGuire added singles, with Barry Draper and Paul Skuse on target for the visitors.

Division Three

Leaders Ripstone edged past Woodlands United 2-1 as goals from Leo Crocker and Tom Brall outweighed Darren O’Brien’s effort.

Tudor Athletic are now in second place following an 8-2 victory against Green Dragon Reserves for whom Luke Cole’s brace was not enough.

Dave Herbert led the way for Athletic with a hat-trick, James Hocking added two more and Tom Herbert, Gary Wicks and Dan Greene also found the back of the net.

Meriden and Revolution shared the points after a 2-2 draw, with Carl Giacone and Lewis Goodyear’s goals cancelled out by Tom Donisthorpe and Callum Hearn.

Division Four

The top-of-the-table clash between Ardent and Hertfordshire Lions saw the home team make it five wins out of five as they secured a 3-1 victory.

Greg Springall put Lions ahead after 20 minutes and saw a claim for a penalty waved away before Charlie Savage struck twice before the break to put Ardent on front.

Savage completed his hat-trick early in the second half, but Lions then missed a penalty through Sam Crafts and went onto spurn several other chances as Ardent stretched their advantage at the summit.

The game between the two ex-Olympian League sides, AFC Green Machine and Inter, resulted in a 1-1 draw.

Alex Hayward netted for Inter and Josh Burtt for their opponents, who are in third place in the table.

Bushey Rangers have a first league win of the season after easily beating Woodlands Laurels 4-0 as Harrison Bath struck a treble and Scot Cain completed the tally.

The Compasses edged out Roundbush 5-3, with Chris Oakley-Smith scoring twice and Reece Chick, James Denyer and Harris Hasanovic also notching. Dan Knott bagged a brace for Bush for whom Martin Clancy also struck.

Division Five

There were goals galore in this division with the two games producing a total of 17.

AFC Batchworth easily claimed the ‘Batchworth derby’, beating Batchworth 7-1 to make it four wins out of four as they head the table.

Alan Palmer-Halligan scored a hat-trick for AFC, with Dylan Cooke, Ollie Cattle, Bradley Foot and Jake Knight also on target. Luke Parry netted Batchworth’s sole reply in the first half.

AC Little Silhouette of Milan are up to third after beating William Morris by the odd goal in nine.

Dan Haslam with two, Tom Pegrum, Joe Hitchins and Zachy Crookshank were on target for AC, with Jacob O'Hanlon, Blake Scott, Jake Mole and an own goal completing Morris’ tally.
