Oxheyt Jets bounced back from a 3-2 defeat against Tring Athletic at the weekend as they defeated Berkhamsted at Broadwater on Tuesday.

A 2-1 victory in the South Spartan Midlands Premier Division sealed the three points as Leigh Stevens’ strike and a superb Luke Lloyd lob found the back of the net.

The Comrades were unable to respond and could only find a consolation through Ashton Campbell a minute before full-time.

The visitors took the lead in the 51st minute when they were awarded a penalty after Oliver Cole was pushed over in the box.

Stevens calmly slotted the spot kick home to spur his side into action, and chances followed for both sides as the match wore on.

However it was Jets who would find the crucial second goal three minutes from time through Lloyd, who rounded three defenders before producing a glorious chip over the keeper.

Campbell managed to pull one back for Berko, slotting through the keeper’s legs, but it proved too late to affect the outcome.

The victory followed Saturday’s home defeat which, after a goalless first half, saw Tring race into a two-goal lead after the restart.

Jack Sutherland tapped in Sam Joliffe’s free-kick a minute before Luke Dunstan flicked the ball into the bottom corner from six yards.

And the bad news continued for Jets as Tring scored a third in the 62nd minute through Adam Scotcher.

But Jets did not give in and seven minutes from time, Luke Wells beat keeper Jack Hopwood before he added another.

A stunning turnaround was almost complete when Martin Netzer missed from the penalty spot but scored the rebound, only for it to be ruled out for offside.

Sun Sports enjoyed a good week, recording back-to-back wins over London Tigers and Edgware Town.

Goals from Dominic David, Liam James and sub George Hobson were enough for the Sun to record their second victory in four days on Tuesday with a 3-2 win at Tigers.

David also shone on Saturday as he scored a hat-trick against Edgware with Chris Blunden and Gary Wallace adding to the scoreline.

Adem Ali scored for Town but it was their only goal in the 5-1 defeat.

Berkhamsted’s disappointing week started on Saturday as they lost 2-0 at Biggleswade United.

Despite United going down to 10 men, Sergio Urbano headed the home side in front, leaving the Comrades to chase the game.

Biggleswade managed to keep a clean sheet despite chances from Alex Campana, Scott Bonner and Campbell.

Jim Baldry was penalised for a foul late on and Nick Elliot converted a penalty to complete the win.

Leverstock Green also enjoyed a six-point week with back-to-back triumphs.

They won 4-1 at Holmer Green on Tuesday after Curtis Donaldson netted in the fourth minute.

The advantage was doubled just after the break through Karl Thomas, Ben Darby grabbed the third just before the hour mark and Holmer’s Ryan Tackley got one back.

But the comeback was not to be as Green killed off the game through Lewis Bowers’ tap-in.

A run of three defeats had ended on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Welwyn Garden City as Donaldson netted two and Darby got the third.
