Garston ladies Under-16s’ unbeaten run ended with a 7-2 defeat at Bishop’s Stortford.

It was a tough fixture for the side as they only had nine players available but the visitors did not give in and tried to press the home side.

Yasmin Sabri opened the scoring with a solo run that took her through five players before firing into the top left corner.

Ally Finestone’s prowess enabled her to drive low into the back of the net after she overcame two physical challenges.

But as tired legs took their toll in the second half Garston were unable to keep up with the player deficit as Bishop ran away with the game.

The Under-15 Pumas and Panthers may be club mates but there was no mercy on the pitch as the Pumas ran out as 17-2 winners.

There were four goals each for Abby Reith and Raaya Thanki, a hat-trick for Abbie Lafayette, while Ruby Jager grabbed a brace.

Olivia Bloom, Hannah Coote, Kate Edmunds and Libby Poster were also on the scoresheet in the rout. Amira Quraishy scored Panthers’ goals.

The Under-14 Lionesses put in a solid second half performance to beat Bury Rangers 8-2 after Nicole Zermani opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a lobbed shot.

Charlie Clark extended the lead soon afterwards but a defensive error allowed Bury back into the game.

However, it was not before long that Sharday Constable’s solo effort restored the two-goal cushion before the break.

The second half started like the first and Claudia Bulow increased the home sides lead before Constable added to her tally.

Clark scored her second from a header as the purple onslaught was completed by Hayley Carr.

It wasn’t as good news for the Under-14 Tigers as they were defeated 12-0 at Hatfield as there rapid passing and superior fitness was too much for the tiger’s keeper Niamh Arnold.

The Under-13s Jaguars were triumphant in their hard-fought battle against Denham as they finished with a narrow 1-0 win courtesy of captain Darcey Bash.

Meanwhile, the Leopards secured one point following their goalless draw at St Margaretsbury.

In the Under-12s the Panthers notched up a 4-0 win over Stevenage with a brace for Maddie Broch and singles by Polly Edmonds and Amber Hine.

The Pumas did not fare as well as they lost 5-3 to their local rivals Chorleywood as Anna Berry levelled the scores just before the break with Lucy Kirby and Maia Lacey adding to the tally.

In the child friendly football, played by the younger age groups, the Under-11s scored three times against Chorleywood with goals from Rosie Alexander, Keira Hemington and Leah Shellard.

Garston’s Under-10 Leopards and Berkhamsted’s Meteors fixture was a veritable goal-fest with Lily Eyers scoring four times and one each for Nancy Francis, Evie Jones, Maddie Elderfield-Bridges and Aimee O’Malley.

The Panthers netted seven goals in their fixture against Bedwell as the Pumas put their training into practice and breached St Albans’ goal four times.

And there was also plenty of goal celebrations for the Under-9 Jaguars as Marcia Itani netted a hat-trick and Lily-Mae Cormican, Imogen Greenaway, Sadie Miller and Ella-Mae Syer were also on the scoresheet.
