Herts Sunday Junior Cup Round Three

AFC Green Machine booked their place in the fourth round of the County Cup after an exciting 5-3 win over Cuffley Tigers yesterday.

Cuffley went ahead after just five minutes and held that lead until three minutes before the break when three goals in as many minutes turned the tie on its head.

First Sid Jordan’s cross missed everyone and ended up in the top corner, then almost straight from the restart a free-kick allowed Danny Roberts to volley home, before it was followed up by a third when Max Palfrey headed in.

Cuffey pulled a goal back at the start of the second half, but Lee Puddephat added a fourth with a 20-yard effort from the left-hand side and it was followed soon after by Charlie Cox’s cross from the right deceiving the Cuffey keeper.

Although the visitors did pull another back late on, it was not enough to prevent an impressive win for the home side.

A Joe Hitchins goal was not enough for AC Little Silhouette of Milan, who lost narrowly 2-1 at home to Cheshunt Cobras.
