A Watford FC Under-12s team featured in the Premier League’s Truce Tournament on Sunday.
The young Hornets, along with 28 other Premier League and Football League academy groups, played in the qualifying day at Portsmouth’s HMS Temeraire naval base.
The team did not qualify for the next stage, which would have seen them travelling to Ypres in Belgium.
Clubs at the event included AFC Bournemouth, Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Place, Fulham and Southampton.
The competition took place on Remembrance Sunday, with all clubs taking part in a ceremony beforehand.
This included laying a wreath, a member from each academy reading aloud the names of fallen soldiers associated with their club, a two-minute silence and the Last Post.
But it was the teams representing Palace, West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City who emerged as the victors and will now make the trip to Europe on Friday, December 9.
