West Herts Hockey Club men's Seconds entered the winter break with a timely 6-3 win over Felixstowe in the East League Premier B.

A Dan Scott brace led the scoring tally and the other goals came from Ed Beak, Jeremy Lowen, Phil Ratliff and George Thomas.

The men's Thirds grabbed a valuable win toppling Bedford Seconds from the summit of Division Two South.

Robbie Waddup netted twice and skipper Luke Frey and Rob Gabriel was on the scoresheet as the team ran out as the 4-3 winners.

West Herts Fourths put last week's disappointing draw behind them and climbed to third place in Division Four South West with a 4-2 win over Broxbourne Thirds.

Jack Bowsher celebrated rejoining the team after his injury with a brace while Jason Mallory and Meekesh Shah got the other goals.

The men's Fifths have prospered since being promoted into Division Six South West and they moved into the third spot following a 3-2 win over Potters Bar Thirds.

Hayden Langford netted a ha-trick to secure the win.

It was not such good news for the ladies Seconds who fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Stevenage which leaves them in the bottom two.

The Thirds managed a 2-2 draw away at Potters Bar.

It was the Fourths that had one of the best scorelines of the weekend after they defeated Tring Seconds 9-0 in the Five Counties Division Two.

Rachel Aldridge netted a double hat-trick, Nicola Poole scored a brace and there was a single strike for skipper Sheena Harsley.

The girls take on second place Saffron Walden at the weekend.

The Fifths took their winning run to seven games with a 2-1 win at Hertford. Maddie Fairnell and Kirsty Neale got the goals.

And the men's masters side defeated Witham 4-2 in round three of the England Hockey men's 0-40s Trophy to face Henley in the next round.
