Oxhey Jets produced an improved second -half display to salvage a 2-2 draw from their South Midlands Premier Division meeting with Edgware Town on Saturday.

Ian Hurst and Gary Warn got the goals for Jets after a disjointed display at Boundary Stadium and the hosts would have been pleased to take a point.

They started slowly and were behind after five minutes of a first half which Edgware dominated.

Jets improved in the second period and Hurst forced an equaliser seven minutes after the restart as his close-range effort just squeezed over the line.

The hosts now had their tails up and were ahead on the hour mark as Warn strode forward and hit an unstoppable drive from 30 yards.

Poor defending would ultimately let Jets down after they gave a free-kick away on the edge of the box, which Edgware converted to claim a point.

Sun Sports bounced back from a league defeat with a resounding cup win.

Saturday saw Sun fall to a 3-2 loss against London Tigers in their Premier Division clash as goals from Jack Johnson and Joe Gallagher proved inconsequential.

With defeat still fresh in their minds, Sun headed into Tuesday night’s Premier Division Cup tie hoping to bounce back.

They did so in emphatic fashion as Johnson added to his strike at the weekend with a hat-trick to lead his side to a 4-0 win over Welwyn Garden City.

Kyle Johnson scored Sun’s other goal in a win which sets them up nicely for a league meeting with a Colney Heath side who sit two places and two points behind them tomorrow.

Their was no such cup joy for Berkhamsted as they crashed out of the Herts Senior Cup on Tuesday with a 6-2 defeat to Ware.

Murat Karagul was Berko’s main tormentor with a hat-trick, two of which came from the penalty spot.

Max Farrelly and Matt Bateman were on target for the Comrades but further goals from Gareth Price and Dean Mason compounded Berko’s misery.

The defeat came on the back of Berkhamsted being held to a 2-2 draw by Stotfold in their Premier Division meeting at the weekend.

Jim Baldry opened the scoring after five minutes before goals from Dan Fritton and Tom Oram left Berko facing defeat with 20 minutes remaining.

The lead lasted just three minutes though, and Alex Campana notched a leveller with a low effort.

Kieran Turner was the star man for Tring Athletic with a hat-trick in their 6-1 league demolition of Leverstock Green on Saturday.

Further goals from Chris Stapleton, Chris Vardy and Lee Stobbs left Green reeling as the visitors ran riot at Pancake Lane.

Ross Adams got on the scoresheet for Green but it proved to be little more than a consolation.

Tring followed up their win with a Herts Senior Cup tie against Kings Langley on Tuesday where they lost 3-0.

Green reacted well to their humbling at the hands of Tring as they produced a cup upset against Stevenage.

Lewis Davis got the only goal of the game with a close-range finish to secure a famous win against Football League opposition and book Green’s place in the quarter-finals where they will face Cheshunt.
