Sun Sports fell to a double loss in three days after they were knocked out of the Dudley Latham Memorial Trophy 4-1 by Wembley.

George Hobson scored the only goal for the club.

At the weekend Sun lost 2-0 at the hands of second-placed Hertford Town in a Spartan South Midlands Premier League Division fixture.

Town took the lead after barely two minutes from the first corner of the game.

Sun came close to the equaliser with a Kyle Johnson effort but Hertford took control of the match.

Sports did not give in and it looked like they might be able to get back into the match, Johnson was sent off for a second yellow - his first red of the season.

Manager Tim O ‘Sullivan rang the changes at half-time and opted for three at the back to try and gain a point.

Keeper Matty Evans kept the home side in the match when Town pounced on the counter and made a couple of fantastic saves.

However, Hertford scored again halfway through the half which effectively killed off Sun Sport’s chances to take anything away from the game.

It has been a mixed week for Oxhey Jets who lost 1-0 to Biggleswade United in a mid-week league fixture following their 5-1 win over Stotfold three days before.

United have now obtained six clean sheets in a row and Antonio Mitri was the game’s goalscorer.

But the Jets did however clinch their first win since Remembrance weekend on Saturday in a first half onslaught against visitors Stotfold.

Oxhey put on a stunning first 45 that had Luke Wells in the mood to finish his chances.

Two almost identical goals with cutting through balls had sent Wells clear in the 10th and 26th minute.

The forward calmly slotted past the advancing keeper to give his side a double advantage.

Stotfold offered little resistance and when Matt Hodges’ long shot spilt the defence it found Luke Jones unmarked for the easiest of touch ins to lead 3-0 after 35 minutes.

With three minutes to go before the break, Sim Armstrong all but finished the match when he headed home from a corner.

Jets were more cautious in the second half, knowing the points were vital, as they had sunk into a relegation battle.

Stotfold did not give up and pulled one back in the 61st minute after a period of attacking and possession.

Keeper Rob Partington made his first appearance for the hosts, replacing the injured Will Baker, since his jaw injury that kept him out since the FA Vase game against Sileby Rangers in September.

Partington was rushed to hospital with his jaw broken in three places after he leaped in for an innocuous challenge.

He was a vital addition making two saves and one brave one at the feet of two Stotfold forwards.

The save of the day went to Stotfold. A dipping deflected shot was magnificently saved by their keeper at full length to try and keep his side in the match.

But the away side’s comeback was stopped in it’s tracks when Wells completed his hat-trick. Jets could have made it six when Luke Lloyd was denied when his free-kick hit the inside of the post from about 25-yards out.

This was before Hodges’ rifled shot went out for a corner.

Tring Athletic set up a Herts Charity Shield Final against Berkhamsted after beating top of the table London Colney 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Colney started the brighter of the two but it didn’t take Tring long to get into their stride with Lee Stobbs, Chris Vardy and Chris Stapleton making the hosts back four work hard.

After five minutes, Stobbs had the first chance when he crashed his shot against the bar.

The winning goal came in the 16th minute after the ball was played inside to Luke Dunstan who ran with the ball before unleashing a shot into the back of the net from 25-yards.

Stapleton almost made it two when he met a Stobbs cross but he headed just over the bar.

Just before half-time a free kick was swung in and Dunstan’s shot was smothered by the Colney keeper.

The second half saw chances come to both sides but neither could find the back of the net.

Colney’s last chance of the match came just before the whistle when their keeper came up for a free-kick but the ball somehow was put over the bar from close range.

At the weekend, Athletic overcame Hadley in a 4-1 scoreline in a league fixture.

Berkhamsted notched an overdue home win on Saturday winning 3-1 over Wembley.

The Comrades got off to a good start and Aston Campbell burst clear before his shot was saved. Skipper Jim Baldry then headed against the post from an Alex Campana corner.

Carl Tasker had to keep out a shot from Zaied Sabti but Berko got the breakthrough after Campbell and Tom Carter combined for Steve Hawes to fire home his second goal of the week.

Berkhamsted doubled their lead on the hour mark as Matt Bateman brought the ball down and ran on to shoot home.

Campana then put Berk three up as he shot beyond the Wembley keeper just inside the far post before the visitors pulled one back that went in off the crossbar.

Leverstock Green secured back-to-back wins in the Premier Division over Holmer Green and Edgware Town.

On Saturday, Jonathan Lacey struck his 20th goal of the season in stoppage time to clinch a 3-2 win over Edgware at Pancake Lane.

Leverstock came from 2-1 down to seal the victory as Curtis Davidson and Ross Adams cancelled out the goals from Nyu Bogaire and Ethan Mooney.

Green claimed a further three points on Tuesday night against Holmer in another home fixture. A goal from Tremayne Charles early in the second half sealed the win.
