Division Two
Evergreen’s once promising season came to a disappointing end with a 2-1 home defeat against Cassiobury Rangers yesterday, meaning the two teams finished in third and fourth places in the table, although Evergreen finished ahead of their opponents by six points.
Dan Jones scored for Evergreen but goals from Jack Henley and Mark Ferguson secured the points.
Division Four
AFC Green Machine defeated bottom-placed Railway Arms 5-2 to jump above both Hertfordshire Lions and Bushey Rangers to take third place in the table.
The victors will be reflecting on the fact they lost only three games during the league campaign - the same number as runners-up Ardent and only one less than champions FC Woodside - but five draws cost them the chance of breaking into the top two.
Lee Shippey and James Hessey scored for Railway, who only managed a win and two draws during the season, whilst their opponents had five different scorers; Josh Burt, Danny Roberts, Charlie Fowler, Daniel Perry and Sam Hailey.
