Northwood have appointed Dean Barker as their new first team manager.

Barker arrives at the club from Wingate & Finchley where he was manager of the club’s Under-23 side and guided them to the Isthmian League Development North Division title as well as two cup finals.

The 34-year-old is eager to get to work with the Wood and spoke glowingly of a club with a rich heritage.

“I’m delighted to become the new manager of Northwood,” Barker said.

“It’s a well established non-league outfit with a proud history and I’m looking forward to working with everyone at the club to have a successful season.

“I can’t wait to meet all the supporters and make us a community club that everyone can be a part of.”

Wood chairman Ian Barry is convinced the he has found a manager who can bring success to the club.

He is convinced the new manager will be able to get the best out of a squad with plenty of potential to develop into a side capable of competing with the best.

Barry said: “We look forward to working with Dean; his enthusiasm and his proven ability to develop players was key in our appointment.

“We know he will be made welcome at Northwood, and we are all looking forward to the new season with hopes high of a good campaign.”
