Gareth Williams says fellow cruciate knee ligament victim Damien Francis provided him with a source of strength during his pain-staking rehabilitation.
The midfield pair suffered the same injury in April last year and spent hours together on the treatment table at London Colney as they worked their way back to full fitness.
"It was good to have him around as we were both going through a similar thing," said Williams.
"We drew strength from each other and became good friends. It's such a difficult injury to get back from and when have you have someone next to you it's just easier to get through."
