Richard Lee looks set to miss the start of the season.

"It's a problem I've been dealing with for some months now," said Lee.

"It meant that I trained very little towards the end of last season and it was just a case of doing enough to get by without aggravating it."

Added the keeper: "Being at the start of the season I don't want to go down that road again as it can be tough to hit top form when doing minimal training and the physios have advised against that anyway.

"This, though, means that I'm likely to be a couple more weeks out with this while the swelling goes down and I strengthen the knee, therefore there's a good chance I'll miss the start of the season.

"Not ideal at all but thankfully the boss has been understanding and it's been made clear to me that I've got to get my knee right before resuming training."

I've only seen Phillips coming out of the Stadium.....
I saw him with my own 2 eyes I tell ya!
Down to the club why we didn't get him not me....But now a keeper is essential unless Alec is coming out of retirement.. AGAIN!!

Ahh or should that be Arrggghhh, I've just realised that we still have the services of one Mr Poom.....
He'll be staying come what may, we're never going to be able to offload him, no one would be so daft, wouldn't be surprised to see the quiet one between the sticks at Palarse, quick Alec get fit!!

I am sorry for Richard,having seen Alec since he retired he still looks the same as when playing for us! If Richard is not fit for the season then Poomy has got to start earning his money and show Watford fans why he played 120 plus international games or the rookie Loach will become Number 1 a little earlier than expected ,Loach is Quality!

But as the club keep saying

Poom is the best in training.

beggers belief why we didnt play him while lee was flapping around like a fish thrown on a road.

Lee should have been dropped after the charlton game. My son would have been dropped for that kind of error.

the errors against hull cost us dearly.

we were completely all over them then out comes the flapper and all momentum lost.

Yes he made an error of judgement on the first goal but the first error was made by the defender in front of Rich 'which is forgotten as the Keeper is always to blame'but when we lost the 1st leg 2-0 rich kept it down to 2 and not 4/5.
You missed the early part of last season when POOM was no1 and was awful nervous,rooted to his line and mute no talking to his defence!!!
