Danny Graham agrees to join Hornets

Watford have completed the signing of Carlisle striker Danny Graham.

The 23-year-old has moved to Vicarage Road on an initial two-year-deal after his contract expired with the League One side.

The Hornets will probably have to pay compensation for the striker because he is under 24.

The former Middlesbrough forward scored 16 goals by January last season but went on a scoring drought for the last 18 matches of the campaign.

Graham is the second Hornets signing this summer after Scottish midfielder Scott Severin joined this week.

The lad has potential, but had a poor second half of last season - partly because Carlisle wouldn't let him go in January. If he can keep motivated he will do well, if not then he could have a long two years. With a bit of confidence he will become a good signing.

like all forwards, sometimes they have a baron time in front of goal, but with the right people beside him goals will come, lets give him the time

I don't rate this guy on what I have seen and don't think he'll reach double figures.
However I'll be cheering him on come August.

If he fails to reach double figures for league goals next year, then he would mirror the majority of Tommy Smiths totals throughout his professional carear. However the fact is when you replace established senior players with younger players who have to prove themselves at this level you fear for the teams prospects. The counter point is that when we spend big on established players with good records at second division level we get it wrong. Remember Moralee - big signing lots of goals for Millwall, Trevor Senior is another example and of course Ellington. Once a season was saved by an amateur from Northwood who had a good season for us. So lets see wait and see.
