Tom Jenkins shared in his second record-breaking stand in as many home games as Radlett demolished Farnham Royal by 128 runs to move up to fourth in Home Counties Premier League Division One.
Three weeks after making 121 in a fourth-wicket alliance of 210 with Gareth Berg (117) in the draw with High Wycombe, the wicketkeeper-batsman was at in again on Saturday as his side posted a formidable 320 for two declared at Cobden Hill.
Coming together at 47 for two, Jenkins and captain Shane Burger put on a remarkable undefeated 273 to set the best ever partnership for a third wicket in the league’s history, comfortably surpassing the 245 put on by a Bicester & North Oxford pair in 2001.
Radlett’s previous third-wicket HCPL best of 210 was set by Nick Fielden and Steve Lowe against Basingstoke & North Hants six years ago, but Jenkins went on to make 151 not out and Burger was undefeated on 122 as the pair amassed their partnership of 276 balls.
Unlike against Wycombe though, Radlett went on to claim the victory, with Rob Crocker taking five for 51 and Kabir Toor four for 55 as Farnham were dismissed for 192.
