Saracens director of rugby Brendan Venter has warned his team won't win the Guinness Premiership if they repeat the mistakes made against Newport Gwent Dragons.

The South African was unhappy with an error-strewn performance which saw the Men in Black limp into the LV= Cup semi-finals. Despite the defeat, Sarries progressed to a clash at Northampton Saints next month where they will have to raise their level considerably.

Venter said: "We've lost and there were certain things we did wrong and we will not win the Premiership if we play like that, it's as simple as that. If we fix those things and learn from them then we've got a really good chance to win the Premiership.

"In a semi-final anything can happen. Northampton are a good side but whether we played them or Cardiff, we were always going to be away. I'm more disappointed in the way we played at times. We were naive and made an unbelievable amount of errors."
