WIll Buckley expected to miss out again as Watford welcome Swansea City

Will Buckley looks set to once again miss out on the Watford squad for tomorrow night’s game with Swansea City after being named in the starting XI for tonight’s reserve team match.

Buckley has not played a competitive game since November due to an ankle injury and has been recovering from a thigh strain since arriving from Rochdale in January.

The forward was handed 45 minutes in the Reserves’ 5-0 win over Southend United last week.

That day first team squad members Richard Lee, Will Hoskins, Ross Jenkins and Liam Henderson all took part but have been left out of tonight’s clash with neighbours Wycombe Wanderers.

This seems to suggest Buckley, who has yet to make his first team debut, is likely to miss tomorrow night’s Championship match with Swansea as he looks set to partner Gavin Massey up front. Kick off is 7pm at Borehamwood FC.

Watford: Jonathan Bond; Andy Yiadom, Eddie Oshodi, Adam Thompson, Jure Travner; Lewis Young, Cole Penny, Kurtney Brooks, Piero Mingoia; Gavin Massey, Will Buckley.

Subs: Theo Angus, Jack Bonham, Jack Warburton, Chez Isaac, Connor Smith.

Why are we playing Bond in goal, when we have Richard Lee and Jonathan North avaliable. Either of these need to be playing for Watford, when we have reserve games. Sixteen year old Bond is a good goal keeper for the acadamy. He was on the bench for the first team earlier on in the season when the other two goalkeepers had injurys. I know it was only a reserve game but these boys are our future and to lose 2 nil is not on.Play our strongest reserve team.
