Steve Finn celebrated his first Test wicket this morning as England closed in on victory after day three of the first Test in Bangladesh.

The debutant Watford-born Middlesex bowler was able to celebrate his maiden top class scalp after seeing Shahadat Hossain caught for 14 by Paul Collingwood.

Having taken none for 30 off five overs on Saturday, the 20-year-old’s figures of one for 18 off nine today made for happier reading, ensuring he completed his first innings as a Test bowler with one for 48 from 14 overs, including five maidens.

With a first innings lead of 303 after the hosts were dismissed for 296, there was some surprise when England skipper Alastair Cook decided against enforcing the follow on.

The visitors didn’t have it all their own way in their second innings, closing on 131 for five, but with a lead of 434 and two days play remaining it will be a major shock if England do not take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
