Saracens have boosted their scrum by signing tighthead prop Petrus du Plessis from Nottingham.
The Men in Black have struggled in the set piece during the last month and after injuries to Carlos Nieto and Tom Mercey have snapped up the highly regarded 27-year-old forward.
Du Plessis was in line to join Sarries next season but the club have brought forward his signing due to the recent injuries as they look to secure their place in the Guinness Premiership play-offs.
Sarries director of rugby Brendan Venter said: "We have watched Petrus for some time and we are delighted to have secured his services. He will join the squad for the two-day training camp in Brighton as we prepare for Sunday's match against Newcastle."
Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney said: "Parra has worked very hard this year and he deserves this opportunity. He has had a fantastic season with us and as a result he has been picked up by a Premiership club.
"He will obviously be missed here but it's a really great chance for him and we wish him all the best."
