Watford manager Malky Mackay and goalkeeping coach Alec Chamberlain will be lining up alongside the likes of Gianfranco Zola and Teddy Sheringham tonight in a tribute match for former Hornets manager Mike Keen.

Keen, who played for Watford 136 times and was player-manager and then manager between 1973 and 1977, died of cancer a year ago on Monday at the age of 69.

His son Kevin, who is first team coach at West Ham United, organised the chairity match between Kevin Keen’s All Stars and Wycombe Wanderers Legends to raise money for Cancer Research.

Mackay said: “Kevin phoned and asked if we would play in the benefit game for his dad and we are more than happy to do that.

“We were friends over at West Ham so I am more than happy to do that for him and especially with Mike being an ex-Watford manager, there is the link with me and Alec.

“It is for a good cause so I am more than happy to go along.”

Although he spent most of his playing career at Queens Park Rangers, Mike Keen was born in High Wycombe, lived in the area most of his life and ran two shops in the town following retirement.

Former Watford fans favourite Tommy Mooney will be in the Wycombe side and former Chelsea duo Gus Poyet and Steve Clarke and the Allen brothers, Clive, Paul and Martin, are all in the Kevin Keen All Star squad.

Tonight’s match at Wycombe’s ground, Adams Park, will kick off at 7.45pm.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £1 for consessions and can be purchased at the game or by calling 01494 441118.
