Watford keeper Scott Loach says his call up to the full England squad this evening is a “dream come true”.

England boss Fabio Capello called up Loach and Blackburn's Frankie Fielding for tomorrow night's friendly with Hungary this evening after former Watford loanee Ben Foster was forced to pull out due to injury.

“It is a dream come true, it really is,” Loach said. “I am still lost for words really, it has not really sunk in but I am sure it will by tonight.

“I can't wait to meet up with the squad tonight and get on the training ground tomorrow morning.”

Rob Green was dropped after his error during the World Cup and David James seemingly missed out due to his age.

This saw Blackburn's Paul Robinson recalled but he quickly announced his retirement from international football and Foster's injury has seen Loach promoted from the England Under-21s.

The 22-year-old understands he is slightly fortunate to receive the call-up now but says he is keen to repay Capello's faith and prove his worth.

Loach said: “There are still some great keepers there. Obviously a lot has gone my way but I will take whatever I can to get in that England squad.

“If I get the chance, then it means I have done something right to even be thought of.

“I will go there tomorrow with my shoulders back and my head held high and prove that I deserve to be there.”
