Despite the best efforts of Graham Gorb, Dolphins suffered defeat to Fullerians in the Premier Division of the Watford & District Table Tennis League.
Gorb put in a fine performance to win all of his games but it was still Fullerians who claimed the victory, winning 5-3.
There was a surprise in the division when Progress’ Russ Davies saw off Stuart Seaholme of Bats as the match concluded in a 4-4 draw, while Dennis Robinson proved unbeatable as he helped Fullerians to a 6-2 success over Abbots Langley.
The good form of Abdul Rahim helped Post Office edge to a 5-3 win over Gazelles in Division One but the two Watling sides had to settle for a draw.
Elsewhere, there was an easy victory for leaders Eagles as they overcame a weakened Huskies side 7-1.
In Division Two, Simon Blum won three matches to help his Watling ‘C’ side beat Audit ‘B’ 6-2 and there was defeat for Audit ‘A’ as well when they lost out 5-3 to Kangaroos.
Perhaps the most impressive performance though came from David Oram, Jamie Fisher and Robert Ikwue as Iguanas made light work of Oxhey Hall with an 8-0 victory.
There was also joy for Ospreys in Division Three as they beat a two-man Panthers side 5-3.
