Moor Park Golf Club’s John Ambridge celebrates Spanish Seniors win

Moor Park Golf Club’s John Ambridge celebrated his coming of age as a senior with an impressive nine-stroke victory in the Spanish Seniors held at Las Colinas.

The tournament was the Herts County player’s first Seniors competition, and also his first international win.

Despite conditions of -2 degrees Ambridge adapted well and shot rounds of 72, 68 and 70. It gave him a total score of 210 – nine clear of Ireland's Maurice Kelly.

Ambridge's second round of 68 included eight birdies in conditions where most players were finding it impossible to get the ball to stop on the frozen putting surface.
