Saracens fly-half Charlie Hodgson scored the crucial try in England's 13-6 Six Nations win over Scotland this evening.
The experienced back charged Dan Parks' clearance down at the start of the second half for the only try of the match.
England trailed 6-3 at the break and had to defend for long periods of the match at Murrayfield.
The rest of the visitors' points came from debutant Owen Farrell who scored two penalties and a conversion.
He was joined in the side by Mouritz Botha and Brad Barritt on their first international starts.
David Strettle also played in the Six Nations opener and Sarries team-mate Matt Stevens came on as a replacement in the second half.
