Sarries in for Carter?

Saracens are reportedly interested in bringing All Black fly-half Dan Carter to Vicarage Road next season.

The 26-year-old Canterbury and Crusaders star is believed to be weighing up his options with French sides Toulouse and Toulon already tabling lucrative deals. Cardiff Blues, Sale Sharks and Northampton Saints are also believed to be interested in Carter.

However, it is now understood the Men in Black have joined the market to land the superstar with incoming director of rugby Eddie Jones behind the pursuit.

Sarries landed renowned New Zealand lock Chris Jack earlier this year and with the recent cash injection from SAIL Group Ltd money appears to be no object.

Jones is busy talking to targets ahead of next season and a fly-half in his prime appears to be a top priority with Glen Jackson, 32, now in the latter stages of his playing career.

Gordon Ross has been more hit than miss as back up ten while youngster Alex Goode is expected to stake a place in the senior squad next season.

Jones is also looking to strengthen all aspects of Sarries' pack despite the club having already recruited number eight Michael Owen and England and Bath lock Steve Borthwick.

What do you think of Carter possibly becoming Saracens' latest big name signing? Post your comments below.
