Sarries prepare for Bath time

Saracens were back in training today after boss Alan Gaffney gave them two days rest and recuperation following Sunday's heart-breaking Heineken Cup semi final defeat to Munster.

Most of the Men in Black were reduced to tears after the 16-18 defeat and director of rugby Gaffney has afforded them as much time as possible to reflect and overcome their ordeal.

However, Sarries face Premiership high flyers and European Challenge Cup finalists Bath on Saturday and Gaffney was today hoping his players arrived for training fresh and refocused on the job in hand.

"There was no point bringing them in Monday or Tuesday as they would not have wanted to be here," said the Aussie. "We are likely to get more out of them from the one training session while keeping them fresh and their minds off last Sunday's game.

"We've got to go to Bath and still perform, although we can't dish up the stuff we served up against Gloucester and in the first half against Wasps."

As for Gaffney he has developed a think skin after enduring previous cup heartaches prior to joining Sarries.

"I've moved on from Sunday," he added. "It's happened enough times to me already."
