Hornets goalkeeper Jonathan Bond started for England Under-21s last night as the Three Lions fought back from behind to clinch a 3-2 friendly victory against Germany Under-21s.
Bond, who earned his sixth cap, completed the contest but was beaten in the 15th minute when Kaiserslautern’s Philipp Hofmann fired past the Watford stopper.
England went into half time level, however, as Jesse Lingard’s low strike flew past Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
After the restart, Germany went in front for a second time as Hofmann again found the net but the hosts rallied in the final quarter of an hour and equalised for a second time when Nathan Redmond swept home.
A third quickly followed for Gareth Southgate’s side as talented Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse slotted home from close range with eight minutes remaining.
