Watford's Under-18s rescued a 2-2 draw against Luton Town Under-18s in Merit League One thanks to a last-minute goal from striker Ogo Obi.

Dennon Lewis had put the Golden Boys in front in Saturday’s contest when he finished at the near-post after good work from Harry Kyprianou and Obi.

But Luton hit back shortly before the interval when Geo Craig struck from outside of the penalty area.

After the restart, the Hatters went in front when Isaac Galliford was brought down in the box and a spot-kick was awarded. Daril Ngwala stepped up and converted from 12 yards.

It seemed enough to earn Luton victory but in the dying seconds of the game, Jacob Cook found Obi and the youngster’s shot found the bottom corner to earn his side a point.

Lead professional development coach David Horseman told the club’s website: "The lads have got a great spirit amongst them, they really push each other on, and you could see that with the way we kept going until we got the late goal.

"They showed brilliant resilience, great mentality, and you felt we were always going to equalise as long as we didn’t run out of time."

Watford Under-18s: Gartside; Eleftheriou (Mason, 80), Young, Rowan, Kyprianou; Cook, Makaka (Folivi, 57), Otudeko; Martin, Obi, Lewis (Ryan, 16).
