Walsall are waiting to see if they receive another offer for Troy Deeney after turning down three bids for the striker, all believed to be from Watford.
Earlier today, the Hornets refused to comment on claims they had made three separate offers for the Saddlers’ Player of the Year over the past three weeks.
However, the Express & Star are reporting that Watford made three offers, each worth around £100,000, with the last of these tabled early last week.
Walsall chief executive Stefan Gamble told the Express & Star: “We’ve received three offers and we’ve made it pretty clear they’ve not been acceptable to us.
“It’s been a week and we haven’t heard anything, so I’m not sure if they’re going to put another offer in.
“Troy is very important to us and we don’t want to sell him.”
Sources close to the League One club may be willing to sell the 22-year-old, who scored 14 goals last season, for around £250,000 to £300,000.
