Watford Ladies youth sides were involved in a number of high-scoring clashes at the weekend, with the Under-15 Hornets recording consecutive seven-goal wins by beating Bedwell Rangers 7-0.

A brace from Holly Holt was added to by further goals from Sinead Carroll, Ciara John, Holly Newell, Olivia Syson and Rachel Stones.

Shorn of a number of key players and without any substitutes, the Under-17 Wasps lost 8-1 against Bedwell Rangers Dragons. Anna Beaman scored the Hornets’ consolation goal from a free-kick.

The Under-15 Harts were also beaten, going down 3-0 to the Hormead Hares. There was better news for the Under-15 Wasps, who beat Garston Ladies 6-2 in a game which was closer than the scoreline suggested.

Doubles for Samatha Cottam and Mikhela Treon, along with singles for Sophia Citro and Becky Holmes did the damage for the Wasps.

The Under-13 Hornets were big winners, thumping Hemel Hempstead Town Youth 12-2.

Kelsey Mugford was named player-of-the-match in scoring a hat-trick, whilst Charli O’Connor netted a brace. There were also goals for Charlotte Bailey, Josie Layton, Katie Philpot, Ciara Purdue, Rubie Smith, Millie Thompson and Sasha Williams.

Player-of-the-match Georgie Knott scored for the Under-13 Harts in their 3-0 victory against Hitchin Belles. Amy Ryan and Amy Doherty also got in on the act.

Without four experienced players, the Under-12s were beaten 12-0 by merciless St Albans City Youth. Debutant Katie Gavin was named player-of-the-match following a tenacious performance.
