Watford Ladies’ Under-13 Hornets have been crowned champions with a game to spare after brushing aside Hemel Hempstead 4-1.

It was a closely-fought first half but Ciara Purdue opened the scoring for the Hornets before the break.

In the second period, Watford attacked downhill and their constant pressure paid dividends as Charlotte Bailey secured the win with a hat-trick, which also saw her named player of the match.

A Kelly Asojo hat-trick fired Watford Under-17s up to third place in the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League as they beat St Joseph Youth 3-1.

Meanwhile, the Under-15 Hornets celebrated a pair of wins in their double header against Bury Rangers.

The first match was close, with just a single goal by Rebecca McShane securing the 1-0 win.

But the Hornets dominated the second encounter to run out 4-0 victors through goals from Sinead Carroll, Rebecca Evans, Rebecca McShane and Holly Newell wrapping up the points.

Also in the Under-15s, Watford Ladies Wasps cruised to a 5-0 win over St Albans City South.

Becky Holmes bagged a brace and there were singles for Maria Brito, Ebony Elite and player of the match Angel Frost.

It was not such good news for the Under-13 Harts though, as they were defeated 4-2 by Tottenham Ladies.

Lola Forsyth scored to give Watford an early lead but Tottenham fought back hard and took the lead just before the break.

Tottenham extended their advantage early in the second half but it looked like Watford were in with a chance once Amy Ryan had reduced the deficit.

However, as Watford pushed hard for an equaliser they were caught on the break by Tottenham, who sealed the victory with minutes to spare.

Watford’s Under-11 Harts were slow to get into their stride and suffered the consequences when Harvesters took an early lead in their encounter.

However, Watford returned rejuvenated after the break and a great finish from Millie Tugby was soon followed by a superb solo effort from Charlotte Barton, who rounded the keeper before slotting home with composure.

Looking for more, Watford became over-confident and a rapid counter-attack ended with Harvesters hitting the Hornets with a sucker punch.
