Second half goals from Chloe Farrell and Emma Bebbington were enough for Watford Ladies Under-19s to clinch the Hertfordshire FA Women’s Cup 2-0 against Stevenage Ladies.

Reflecting on the win, manager Michael Williams said: "We're absolutely delighted to win today against a very good and very physical Stevenage side.

"Our girls have been fantastic all season and for some people this result might be a surprise. It's no surprise for us, though, as the performance was a reflection of the great work being done by the girls week in and week out."

Stevenage had the better of the opening exchanges but Watford soon found their rhythm and Megan Warner forced Chrissy Roberts into a smart save.

Hornets midfielder Aimee Durn displayed good footwork to open up some space but skewed her shot just wide of the mark.

In the 37th minute the Golden Girls fired another warning shot; Emma Bebbington rifling narrowly wide.

Stevenage had an excellent opportunity to take the lead in the second half, Josie North going agonizingly close with a swerving effort.

However, it was the Golden Girls who would break the deadlock in the 58th minute when Farrell’s drilled shot found the back of the net via the underside of the bar.

Watford doubled their lead in the 75th minute. Bebbington made no mistake as she calmly slotted home from Sian Fiskin's weighted pass.

Stevenage pushed numbers forward looking and put some sustained pressure on Watford’s backline. Amy Josland went closest but saw her volley from the edge of the area crash back off the crossbar.

The Golden Girls weathered the late Stevenage storm, though, to claim the cup and a hard-fought victory.
