Watford ladies fell to a 3-0 defeat at Dronfield on Sunday, with Sheffield’s Ladies victory moving the hosts up to sixth in the league.

All the attention post-match was on the health of Ellie Mason after the Watford midfielder had to be stretchered off, fortunately after a few checks at the hospital, she was given the all clear.

An early goal from Jodie Michalska and a Hannah Dale strike gave the home side a two goal advantage at the half-time interval.

It was always going to be a tough to repeat previous comebacks against the outfit with the best defensive record in the division and the scoring was complete by Hannah Cain in the second half.

The hosts opened the scoring in the third minute as Danielle Lea threaded a pass through to Michalska who found the back of the net.

The Golden Girls looked to respond quickly but Ruby Baxter’s header was gathered by Juliana Draycott.

There was little Hornets keeper Lucy Gillett could so when Sheffield doubled their lead with 27 minutes on the clock when Sophie Jones found Dale at the back post and she slotted it home to grab her side’s second of the game.

Sheffield’s third and final goal came in the 46th minute as Cain made it three scoring a header after beating Gillet through her legs after being picked out by Ellie Gilliatt.

However, concern for the football side of things would soon take a back seat after a clash in the minute of the park between Mason and Michalska resulted in both needing treatment.

After a lengthy delay, Mason was stretchered off the pitch and the good news would follow a few hours following the end of the match with the Watford midfielder getting the all clear.
