Watford Ladies Under-17 Hornets marched on in the Herts Women’s Cup by trouncing Bishops Stortford CFC Ladies 6-1.

The Hornets were on top form as braces from Olivia Syson and Linda Afuakwah added to Sinead Carroll’s strike and an own goal to seal the resounding win.

They face Stevenage in January’s semi-final.

The Under-17/18 Harts were made to work harder for their win as they overcame Bedford Ladies & Girls 3-2 thanks to goals from Anna Beaman, Mikheala Treon and Sophia Citro.

The Under-13 Hornets added to the club’s cup success as they cruised to a 6-1 win over St Joseph’s Youth 88.

Catherine Reeves’ first-half double set the tone before St Joseph’s pulled one back just after the restart.

The Golden Girls were in no mood to allow their advantage to slip and hit four unanswered goals from Kayra Karakus (2), and one apiece from Aulona Xhema and T’yana Nee-Chambers.

Meanwhile, the Under-13 Harts were made to settle for a draw against Bury Rangers Whites after Lucy D’Amore’s well-taken strike was cancelled out.

Bury came out firing in the second half but a strong defensive display saw them fail to break through as Harts held on.

There was little to celebrate for the Under-12 Harts after they struggled to compete against a strong Stortford side and lost 7-0.

Chanel Lee was named player of the match on a testing afternoon.

Lucy Wood earned the player of the match award as the Under-10 Harts produced a strong display against Garston Ladies Panthers.
