Watford Ladies will hope to get off the mark in Women’s Super League 2 at the third time of asking tomorrow after another disappointing result last weekend saw them suffer a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Oxford United.

The performance was better in parts but Keith Boanas will still want more from his players as they travel north to take on Durham Women.

Laura-May Walkley should return to the squad following her one-match suspension and there are no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to the North East.

The squad have been working hard in training as they search for that first point of the season as they know they have much more to offer than they have shown in their two defeats to date this term.

Durham have been a surprise package in recent seasons and have challenged in the upper echelons of WSL 2 while just missing out on promotion behind the likes of Bristol and Yeovil.

They have had a mixed start to the 2017/18 season with a 2-1 win over newly-promoted Tottenham on the opening day before suffering a 3-2 defeat away to Brighton last time out.

This game also offers a chance for the Golden Girls to bond as they face their first overnight away trip of the season.

With the new faces on board, it’s an opportunity to use the extended time together to build relationships both on and off the pitch, something that could prove valuable in the coming weeks.

Following tomorrow’s match, the Hornets have another game to prepare for as Millwall come to Kings Langley in the Continental Cup on Thursday.

The Group One South fixture kicks off at 7.45pm and represents an opportunity to right some of the wrongs from the opening day league defeat to the same opposition.

In their two games so far, Millwall have been unbeaten as the 3-1 win over the Golden Girls was added to with an impressive 2-2 draw at the home of title contenders Doncaster Belles.
