Former Watford boss Sean Dyche offered Burnley manager's job according to reports

Sean Dyche could be set for a return to management at Watford’s Championship rivals Burnley, it is reported this morning.

The Lancashire Telegraph is claiming the former Hornets boss has been offered the Turf Moor job but has asked to think over the move this weekend as Crystal Palace are also believed to be interested in appointing him.

The former Chesterfield and Northampton Town defender, who was sacked following the Pozzo takeover at Vicarage Road, is said to have been at top of a three-man shortlist that included Falkirk boss Steven Pressley and St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas, before Clarets chiefs considered a late move for Ian Holloway.

Burnley have been seeking a new manager since Eddie Howe opted to return to his former club, Bournemouth.

Good on him. I look forward to the fantastic reception he'll get when we play them.

Indeed, will be sure to get a standing reception from all on his return. A great servant, good manager under difficult circumstances and a genuinely good decent honest man.

Good luck Sean, would rather take the Burnley job though than Palarse.

Hi,
It reads to me you guys have a high regard for sean. He did a good job for you and i was surprised when he was sacked.
I believe most of us Clarets would support his appointment at Burnley but we do face competition given the number of vacancies now open.
The holloway thing was more of a thought really, never a serious consideration,
Let me take this opportunity to wish you all the very best today against our local rivals. You'll find them a strange looking bunch with an accent just as confusing. Stick it up 'em.

Terry's of Burnley

Amazed how Sean has not been grabbed fast.He did an amazing job for us with little or no funds. But it was clear that Gianfranco was pencilled in when the Pozzo family took over.Nobody had a bad word against Sean.If and when he returns he will always get a great reception at th Vic.

Good luck to S.D., who did a top notch job for us under dire circumstances. Made a few early mistakes (as all new to management do) but proved himself by a top half finish when most of us expected a relegation fight.

Top man. Over-achieved massively last season with a pretty moderate squad. Sincere thanks for all he did and very best wishes for the future. Assuming these reports are correct, let's hope that even the increasingly vindictive Rookery will give Dychey a massive Good Friday welcome. He deserves it.

Sean Dyche, a man who could show Brendan Rodgers a thing or two about integrity and loyalty. Never gives less than 100% and will get the team 'believing in what they do'. Good luck whichever you choose. Unless its Palace.

Hope Dyche gets a good job and wish him well.
However I wouldn't swap Pozzos/Zola/Good Football for Bassini/Dyce/Hoof Football
