New Burnley boss Sean Dyche says he won't make radical changes at Turf Moor

Dyche: 'We won't change things radically at Burnley' Dyche: 'We won't change things radically at Burnley'

Ex-Watford boss Sean Dyche insists his decision to join Burnley was instant and stressed he does not plan to change things at the club radically.

Dyche was appointed as the Clarets manager this afternoon and has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract at the club, who have also appointed former Hornets Ian Woan and Tony Loughlan.

The 41-year-old told the club's website: "It feels fantastic to be invited to be the manager of a great club. It didn’t take me any time at all to accept the role, despite popular misconceptions.

"I wasn’t at home having the weekend to think about it. I decided instantly and we got on with things as quickly as we could, but things still need to be put into place contractually.

"I was at Cardiff on Saturday to have a look at that and it was finally great to get out with the players on Tuesday.

"This is a club in some kind of transition after a spell in the Premier League, but it is clearly a club that wants to build and move forward and I desperately want to be a part of that and make sure that we do that."

"We want to stamp our own authority on things and give the players food for thought, but not change radically," Dyche added.

"We love the way the team attacks and we will definitely be using that to our advantage.

"But it’s fair to say I think it needs shoring up a bit and the framework the team uses needs tightening slightly, so we will be looking to effect that and hopefully continue to score a lot of goals. That’s the aim."

Yes Sean did a great job but this is getting stupid! We all know he got the Burnley job and congratulations but we don't need to read a new Dyche report every day! Our manager is Zola and the majority of fans that have at least half a brain and understand football are happy that he is our manager. Zola and the Pozzos will make this club successful and I am turning up to games with excitement in me knowing that we are getting better all the time. The last few seasons have been pretty dull really. Finally we are watching football and for those that can't see it then I pity you and your satisfaction at mediocrity!

Why has there been more about him this week than about any Watford news.
Is it that Watford F.C. do not like W/O and do not trust their comments.
Can W/O seriously concentrate on W.F.C. and get news or comments from manager and players so that their is real news to read about.

I've noticed that only when Lutondown doesn't really know how to answer a point does he react wth full-scale, unadulterated abuse. Personally I'm an ignorant, old, doomsaying, Negative Nelly, Dyche-loving muppet - and really quite proud of my status. My original offence was to question whether the new regime was necessarily good for the club, prior to there being any evidence, either positive or negative. I maintain that stance today. If he agrees with you, that's when you need to worry.....

In case it was missed on a previous thread, Lutondown mentioned that our old watford Hero, Ken Furphy, is not in the best of health. All of us Watford old boys will have fond memories of his times, a manager who achieved success with a budget smaller that Bassinis office safe. Although we may all have our differences, we probably can all unite in our respect for Ken Furphy. Please, watford Observer, lets have an appreciation of K.F. whilst he is still with us.

Yes Thanks for Murfin and big Chris SD! Whilst you check out the odds on GFZ getting sacked please check on the odds of SD's departure at Burnley prior to it! I have been checking the Burnley fans reaction to the appointment and it don't make pretty reading!
At least the Burnley fans will know exactly what 'style' of 'football' to expect! Very limited with those options as its the only way SD ever knew.

One advantage of SD's appointment is that, undoubtedly, he will come back here for one or two of the surplus players in January, as I am sure Watford will be happy to unload then quickly and cheaply. It will be just as interesting to see which one's he doesn't take, as much as those he does.

Whatever you guys want to say about Mr Lutondown, I remember his humble u-turn on Dyche. It was good. I think it happened around Christmas/NY time. And anyhow, the man wants good football at the Vicarage. Why argue with that?

Now get on board. These are exciting times. Bushey tales, if you really want to out-do lutondown then u-turn now, before Christmas, and admit that Zola is our hero. And accept that the Pozzos are better than Han Solo and Luke Skywalker put together.

We're gonna be a great force in football so it's a good idea to join the fun now rather than later.
