Gianfranco Zola has confirmed Almen Abdi has gone to hospital but the extent of his shoulder injury is not yet known.

The Hornets midfielder had to be stretchered off after slipping over in his own half of the pitch, minutes after scoring his side’s second goal in their 6-1 victory at nine-man Leeds United this afternoon.

Following the victory, the Hornets head coach said of the injury: “I think it’s the shoulder. We don’t know whether it’s dislocated or whatever is the problem but he’s gone to the hospital.”

It will be a massive blow if he's unavailable for even one game. Fingers crossed he's okay.

We will miss Abdi. His injury was a bit farcial, as he ran into Anya from behind and fell over without a Leeds player within 30 yards. It gave the Leeds's fans something to laugh about, before committing suicide.
