Watford’s on-loan midfielder Cristian Battocchio scored his first goal for Italy’s Under-20’s yesterday, as they thumped Switzerland 4-1.
Battocchio started in the centre of midfield for Italy and got the second goal after 11 minutes as the Azzurri cruised to victory despite having a man dismissed after half-an-hour.
Afterwards, the 20 year-old tweeted: “Italy 4 vs 1 Switzerland! Great win and very happy for my first goal in national”
Elsewhere in European friendly action, striker Matej Vydra helped the Czech Republic to a 3-1 win over Slovakia.
The Hornets' top scorer started on the bench but came on with 23 minutes remaining to help Michal Bilek’s side to a 3-0 victory, providing the assist for Borek Dockal’s debut strike.
Vydra has now won four full caps for the Czech Republic.
