Gianfranco Zola insists Steve Beleck remains with Hornets after 'Ciao Watford' tweet

Steve Beleck remains a Watford player despite appearing to suggest his future may lie elsewhere earlier this week.

The on-loan Udinese striker has not featured in a Hornets matchday 18 since the middle of September and on Monday tweeted ‘Ciao Watford’.

Ciao can either mean hello or goodbye in Italian, but some fans took his tweet to mean the latter given his lack of first-team opportunities.

However, Gianfranco Zola said this lunchtime: “The situation is he is here. Unfortunately he is one of those players who has so far been penalised, like Chris Iwelumo.

“They’re very good professionals, they’re working very hard, but they don’t get much space at the moment.

“Yes, he wrote it down, I don’t want to make a big fuss of that.

"I can understand that he’s training every day and he’s not getting many games, but the situation is that he is a Watford player and he’s going nowhere for the moment and we intend to keep him because we value him.”

I like him and hope he gets some game time. i think he could score a tun of goals if he gets regular spot, although its hard when you up against forestieri, vydra, gei
jo,deeney .

I do not see him or chris getting a game unless we have a mass injury situation or suspensions all at the same time.We have enough options upfront, and all of the players that have featured over the last few weeks will be hard to shift. We can not play them all.I think it's the end of the road for chris now, just too much talent in front of him.Can see him going out on loan.

only the best will survive and i dont think he will get in above who we have already up front....Garner....B
ig Chris....and Leo Beleck...will all go in January. I know he has limited time on pitch but he has shown nothing whn he was on and i believe if he was outstanding in training e would get a chance.

I reckon he and Chris are being kept at the club because of their value in training. Many teams in the Championship use a big man up top and having these two playing in training matches will help the first team learn to deal with a physical presence up top.

I've had him down as going back for a while now, we just have to may players ahead of him and rightly so! Vydra is amazing and Deeney and Forestieri have been impressive and Geijo is starting to look a really good player!

Geijo is top drawer. People kept saying who will be our twenty a season player. Well he have two for sure in Geijo and Vydra. And remember Deeney scored 14 in a poor side, so he's good for a few, as Is Abdi, Murray....it just gets better!

Remember Beleck is only 19 years old, so hopefully GFZ can improve him. Big, Strong and quick, but a bit erratic, but sure he can improve.

Also Mensah will be soon pushing for a 1st team squad place, plus Britt, so loadsa options

It had to happen sometime LD - I agree with you.

His goal against LUFC - what a shot!

I was in Luton today -where you suggest I see my football. Apart from the airport I had not been to Luton since 1983. It really is a p155h0le of a place.

I feel Gianfranco will have real selection problems if and when John Eustace gets fit.I feel his midfield grit is a must for us.We have silky skills and some players with outstanding skill, but every side needs a Eustace to fire players up.Our permutations in attack and midfield must be the envy of most championship teams.

A friend tweeted Beleck saying "How are you enjoying London and Beleck replied with something along the lines of: 'I don't play so I may go out on loan'.

He also later tweeted 'The year 2012 brought me a lot of bad luck, I hope 2013 will be good'. Seems he's really not happy. I'd like to see a bit more of him in the new year and with Hey-Ho and Vydra supposedly a tad injury prone he could get a chance in the new year.

Yep loads of options for Zola and I really think also that Vydra and Geijo will easily get 20 goals each if they play together each week! With attacking options of Murray, Forestieri and Deeney we have goals in this side and maybe after putting six past Leeds the players may believe it a bit more!
I would like to see Eustace in the side when he is fit to add a bit of steel and a bit of extra protection for the centre backs, also nice to have him from corners and set pieces in the box as he pops up with a few goals!
Maybe with Cholobah going back to Chelsea in January he's a natural replacement?
I really like our squad and when all fit and squad is trimmed just look at this 3-5-2 side:
Almunia, Hoban, Hall, Ekstrand, Pudil, Eustace, Murray, Abdi, Forestieri, Vydra, Geijo!
Subs: Bond, Deeney, Neuton, Cassetti, Doyley, Mungi Bai, Battochino!

From what i was told of Anya at Leeds, he should, at least, be an option available on the bench---but, admittedly, with that squad, a difficult squeeze-in!

If Geijo was a 20 a season man he would of put in Pudils ball in that was just wide second half against millwall, i mean he was literally STANDING a couple of yards away WATCHING it go past him.......and the goal, you can bet the likes of mooney would of thrown themselves at the ball even if there was a load of hot coals they would land on.

I have seen my fair share of strikers so i think i have a vague idea of what a 20 a season striker looks like. My point in my original post was why was he standing and watching it, a 20 goal a season man would of made every effort to get something on it as they tend to have a knack of being in the right place at the right time.
"Michael Jackson keep away from stuff you know nothing about, and I won't start moonwalking." i quite like moonwalking, maybe you could throw in some modern with a bit of street while your there?
