Watford to relaunch their popular junior membership scheme 'Junior Hornets'

'Junior Hornets' makes a comeback 'Junior Hornets' makes a comeback

Watford are re-launching their junior membership scheme this weekend as they return to yesteryear to adopt the Junior Hornets name.

As part of the club’s pioneering family approach in the 1980s the Hornets ran a junior membership scheme and they’re now returning to that popular name after adopting the Team Hornets title for the last few years.

Adults can register young Watford fans, aged under 16, from this weekend at juniorhornets.co.uk.

Free membership packs will be sent out to the youngsters and members will have access to a range of benefits.

The Junior Hornets website will have exclusive messages from Hornets’ Head Coach Gianfranco Zola and Junior Hornets President Sean Murray.

Members will be able to take advantage of competitions, wallpapers, crosswords and specially filmed videos, including a crossbar challenge, on juniorhornets.co.uk.

Sadly they probably won't be having a Christmas party at SEJ's home in Old Windsor and as they did when I was a member. Halcyon days.

Halcyon days indeed, but I feel we could be entering a new Halcyon age. I hope we soon see SEJ bring young Zachary to the Vic and join him up as a Junior Hornet. I know he lives mainly in the states and his tour schedule is "manic" but it would be fantastic to see him at a game again.

I remember going to three Christmas parties at a leisure centre. GT and the entire team there for a few hours joining in the games. Barnes, Blissett, Coton - everyone. Highlight was Rod Thomas being sent home by GT in disgrace for wearing a Captain Condom t-shirt!

Oh dear! That said everything about Rod Thomas. Bags of natural football skill, but lacking the natural intelligence to use it. Wasted talent.
Got to welcome the revival of the Junior Hornets, a small but vital step in promoting the future of the club.

Fantastic news as I was once a junior hornet too! Can't wait to register my 1 month old son as a junior hornet!

On a more posative point.

This is just another indication of what a forward thinkin board we now have.

They have recognised that something was popular and that the key to the future and attaining bigger gates is to get the kids more involved and been bright enough to put them together.

This is in stark contrast to what we could have still been lumbered with and i for one am counting our blessings.

IN POZZO'S WE TRUST!
