Watford forward Fernando Forestieri faces a race against time to be fit for this Saturday's home game against Nottingham Forest.

The Argentine has missed the last two matches with a hamstring strain but there is a chance he could recover in time for the weekend.

Gianfranco Zola said: "We don't know yet about Fernando, we will assess him tomorrow (Friday) and then make a decision about Saturday."

John Eustace and Nyron Nosworthy returned to training this week but they are not considered fit enough to start and when asked whether they could play a role from the bench Zola was doubtful.

"I'm not sure about that, not for this game I don't think," Zola said. "I'll consider it but I think it's unlikely."

Nathaniel Chalobah is available despite picking up a knock against Burnley, while Neuton, Prince Buaben and Jonathan Bond have also recovered.

Zola admits he may rotate his team over the coming weeks but insists the squad is strong enough to cope.

He said: "We will see, it is an option and we have the resources to rotate but we will decide depending on the game.

"Having many players like we have here at the moment is an advantage not a problem."

Nottingham Forest sit just a point behind Watford in the Championship table and Zola believes Watford will have to be at their best at Vicarage Road to get a result.

"Forest are going to represent a difficult game for us that's for sure," Zola added.

"They have a lot of quality, especially up front.

"Every team in the Championship have to be very much respected and we need to make sure we play our best."
