Lee Hodson will remain at Brentford until the end of the season after his loan was extended.
The defender, who moved to Griffin Park in November, was due to return to Vicarage Road after this weekend but a deal has been agreed to keep him at the League One club for the remainder of the campaign.
The Northern Ireland has made six appearances to date for Uwe Rosler’s side and could line-up against holders Chelsea in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the end of this month if the Bees beat Southend United in their replay.
Speaking after Saturday’s 2-2 draw in the third round, the 21-year-old told Brentford’s website: “I am happy, I am enjoying my time here.
“There are a great bunch of lads, a great manager and great coaching staff.
“The club is in a great position, fighting for promotion, and it is great to be involved.”
