Bernard Mensah latest Watford academy graduate to sign new long-term contract

Young Watford striker Bernard Mensah has signed a new deal until 2016.

The second-year scholar, whose previous professional contract was due to expire in 2014, has scored 12 goals in 14 appearances for the Under-18s this season.

Mensah joins Academy graduates Sean Murray, Connor Smith and Tommie Hoban in signing new long-term deals this season.

Okay Hog, lets make up some news for you! I hear we've made a big for George Boyd from Peterborough.

Tool.

I may have missed this news but is Britt staying out on loan for the rest of the season?

Why are we not signing up Britt? I reckon Zola doesn't rate him highly enough. If he did, surely he'd have loaned him to at least a League One club for rest of season.

You may not be too far off the mark here considering 6 championship clubs have made bids for Boyd.

Any one that signs 'Hog Out' at the end of their posts is either by defaul a tool or about thirteen years old.
I dont expect many signings in this window, dont forget we signed 16 in the summer. Are we expecting another flood? I dont think so. One or two maybe and we're only ten days into the window. Most business is done towards the end of the month. So if youre 'disappointed you need to get real. Or concentrate on your homework...

I'm not expecting much at all in terms of new players coming in, and reasonably happy with that as well. I do hope it's not a case of Hogg out, though. It's easy to underestimate what that sort of player brings to the team, but less easy to find one to buy when you need one.

^^^ Happy we're keeping the good youngsters, like Mensah, on proper long-term deals as well though...

Great to get Bernie signed up, could be a good player for the future. But this is not the news that I keep checking the Observer to see, where are the perm signings of Vydra, Forrestieri or Abdi? Sort it out Watford!

Just think it has already been signed, but agree would like to see confirmation.
Plenty of time to go!

Your comment of 'tool' on my post is ludricous. It was a perfectly reasoned post agreed with by Colin West's Mullet. By the way I am 56 next birthday and don't write posts like a 13 year old. You are clearly an oaf.

Well lets just hope he does not go the same way as master Murray, abusing his body in more ways than 1 from what I hear.
Shame that his form so far this season is a reason why money and long contracts do not always make any player better. He had so much early promise and his still got a long journey if he wants to fulfill that potential we hope he still has.
For his sake, I hope he does.

If his mates were good mates they wouldn't take advantage of his lack of respect towards the vast amounts of money he is earning and to keep him on the straight and narrow.
And the fact that when it all goes pear shaped his so called mates will desert him.

I think you can look at JJ O'TOOLE as well, who showed so much promise in the beginning only to p... it all up the wall walking around wealdstone at 3.00am in the morning drinking beer and eating fish and chips!!!

He needs to go out on loan, away from hangers on and his family who are not helping his progress.
I heard Huddersfield was a possibility. A time up norf might help him. He needs to get back on track cos his not doing himself any favors at the moment but you know, we have seen it all b4 with talent going to waste.
