Watford head coach Gianfranco Zola has praised his front two; describing Troy Deeney as "priceless" and claiming Matej Vydra is a more complete player now than he was when he joined the club.

Vydra took his tally for the season to 16 and made it eight goals in his last six matches with another double at the weekend.

Deeney's penalty against Huddersfield was his 11th of the season but it is his overall play which has been arguably more impressive.

Zola said: "When Matej came over here in the beginning, we knew he was a very good finisher. We knew that straight away. But now he has become more of a complete player because he helps the team in the build-up, he helps the team defensively and he has an excellent understanding with Troy Deeney.

"Deeney again is priceless for the work he does for everybody else. We are really growing up very well."

"There is a very good understanding between the two of them," Zola added. "But also Troy did some very good things for the rest of the team. He is a mature striker."

Zola also praised the impact of Almen Abdi and revealed his nickname for the influential midfielder.

"Abdi is massive," Zola said. "I call him The Professor because he is the player on the team that gives us balance. He can be quick going forward but also when we need to calm down and keep the ball he can do that as well.

"I think he is one of the players that has improved most since he came over here. He has been doing well since the beginning but his maturity and football intelligence is massive so I think he is one of the key players for this team."
