Stephen McGinn completed his first competitive 90 minutes since suffering knee ligament damage almost two years as Shrewsbury Town beat Preston North End at the weekend.

Watford midfielder McGinn had previously made four substitute appearances on-loan with Shrewsbury before making his full debut for Graham Turner’s outfit in Saturday’s 2-1 win.

Also in League One, Chris Iwelumo made his debut on-loan at Oldham Athletic, who were beaten 3-1 at Walsall.

The former Scottish international also played the full 90 minutes as the Latics were comfortably beaten by the Saddlers, a result which saw boss Paul Dickov resign.

Striker Steve Beleck was also on the losing side in League One as Leyton Orient won 1-0 against Stevenage at Broadhall Way.

Beleck came on as a second-half substitute, replacing midfielder Anthony Grant in the 58th minute.

Elsewhere in League One, Lee Hodson was an unused substitute for Brentford who were beaten 3-0 at Yeovil Town.

In League Two, Southend United loanee Britt Assombalonga returned to the side following injury as the Shrimpers beat Oxford United 1-0. Assombalonga was replaced with 23 minutes left on the clock.

Aaron Tumwa, on-loan at Wealdstone, saw the Stones’ match with Lowestoft Town rained off, as did Piero Mingoia, who recently joined Boreham Wood on-loan for the rest of the season.

Third-year scholar Matt Bevans wasn’t part of the Chesham United side which won at Hemel Hempstead on Saturday after his loan spell with the Generals expired.
