VIDEO: Watford Academy player Alex Jakubiak nominated for League Football Education’s Goal of the Month

Watford Under-18s' Alex Jakubiak has been nominated for League Football Education’s January Goal of the Month prize.

Jakubiak’s effort was selected alongside the seven other best strikes from the Football League’s youth systems last month.

The goal opened the scoring in Watford Academy’s 3-2 home win over Peterborough United on January 12 and Hornets fans can vote for Jakubiak’s goal on the LFE website here.

 

LFE chief executive Alan Sykes said: "This competition is popular with our apprentices, clubs and the general public. It highlights the good work taking place right across the Football League to develop talented young players."

GOAL A: Richard Bryan, BRENTFORD v Swansea City, 12/01/13

GOAL B: Tom Derry, Ipswich Town v CHARLTON ATHLETIC, 12/01/13

GOAL C: Alex Jakubiak, WATFORD v Peterborough United, 12/01/13

GOAL D: Tobi Sho-Silva, Ipswich Town v CHARLTON ATHLETIC, 12/01/13

GOAL E: Jahmal Smith, SHEFFIELD UNITED v Leeds United, 12/01/13

GOAL F: Lewis Horsburgh, PORTSMOUTH v Watford, 15/01/13

GOAL G: Oliver Watkins, EXETER CITY v Swindon Town, 25/01/13

GOAL H: Jamie Hanson, DERBY COUNTY v Huddersfield Town, 28/01/13

At halftime against Palace They showed a lot of the academy goals down on the screens in the concourse . It was really good football all played on the floor and it really does encourage for the long term.
That EPL thing that some moaned about that we didnt pay £3 million or whatever to be part of looks a complete joke. I see some clubs have only played one game all season and the rest have played two games.Whats that all about ? am I missing something here ? (wouldnt be the first time ).

It's not been the same since them Italians come to town....thank God for that

And your missing nothing, it would have been putting our kids in shop front so the bigger clubs could come and steal them off of us. No more the fools

When the Pozzos come and the academy was downgraded there were hundreds of posts on the matter.
Up above is testimony to the total football philosophy running through the club along with a peach of a goal. We have with this 15 comments.
Think the silence speaks volumes.
